Susan Soon He Stanton, a native of Hawaii, began her work as a playwright at the Honolulu Theatre for Youth at age fifteen. Since then, her plays have been produced in New York, London, California, and Hawaii. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Dramatic Writing from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University.

Susan is the co-founder and managing partner of Rosalind's Helix, LLC. She has received two grants from the Sloan Foundation—one for best full-length screenplay (Rosalind's Helix) and the second grant to develop that screenplay into a feature film. Most recently, she has completed Medal of Honor, a screenplay about the Civil War doctor Mary Walker, which is currently being developed by Red Sky Films. In addition, Susan's full-length play Whatever Happened to Peter Boy? was a finalist in a competition by New York Theatre Workshop and is being developed for production in Honolulu in 2006.

Presently, Susan is in pre-production for Rosalind's Helix while also working on Testimonies from a Floating World, a collection of interweaving short plays and monologues for theatre.
